Our Goal
What is the YUM Farm Project?
The YUM farm project started in 2021 when a group of passionate freshmen in JIS partnered with Yayasan Usaha Mulia to create and sell vegetables and cooking boxes for Earth day to support YUM's farm and the farmers impacted by the pandemic.
This year, we were inspired to expand our project, so we created a 4 episode video series where we will interview our special guests on such topics as sustainability, cooking, and farming techniques.
We truly hope these videos will inspire and educate people on the importance of sustainable eating and farming habits, as well as encourage others to support local businesses. All profits raised through the celebrity chef cooking boxes we sell this year will go directly to the YUM Farm and its farmers.
The YUM Project's goal is to encourage sustainable practices and promote businesses economically impacted by the pandemic, so we hope you too can play a role!
Yayasan Usaha Mulia or YUM is a non-profit organization that promotes environmental sustainability and strives to create a healthy community with its wide variety of fresh vegetables from their organic farm. All the profits that this farm generates funds other YUM projects such as providing children with education from their local schools.
Burgreens is the leading plant-based food chain in Indonesia that specializes in Asian and Western Cuisines. With a strong belief that what we eat impacts our health, farmer's welfare, and sustainability, Burgreens sells a variety of delicious vegan dishes whilst simultaneously creating positive local engagement. Burgreens was started very humbly in November 2013 by a young vegan couple, Max and Helga, who were passionate about making a healthy and sustainable lifestyle mainstream in Jakarta. Now Burgreens has over 10 locations across Jakarta and out of the city, selling everyone's favorite comfort foods from Burgers, Rendang, to Vegan boba--all recreated to be 100% vegan.
We are so excited to be able to work with Chef Max Mandias and Ibu Vanessa Reksodipoetro on this project. We could not thank them enough for their countless hours of time and consistent effort in this project, and truly would not be able to complete this project without their contribution.
